This is an illustration for the French cover of the Ramayana - volume 2 by Ashok Banker.
This is a fantasy version of the traditionnal Indian epic.
In this picture I wanted to paint the bad guy, Ravana. I tried to show him in a more occidental version, but still keeping the Indian mythology symbols. I know that Ravana has 10 heads and not 5, but I really didn't like the traditionnal vision with a lot of heads side by side whithout logical way to attach them, so I decided to show 5 heads , the ive others are on the other side.
